Annual Congregational Meeting Minutes

January 24, 2010

 

Call to order by Council President Dan Kuntz at 12:31 p.m.

 

Devotions by Pastor Dwaine.
Referred to page 7 of his 2009 annual report discussing a look back at the last decade of Resurrection. Led a discussion among members regarding the past 10 years and dreams of the future 10 years.

Staff reports submitted:

 

Pastor Dwaine: highlighted this past October, Mark Mathews was ordained into ministry; he’s the third ordained minister from this congregation in the past 15 years.

 

Pastor Linda: highlighted activities of the Busy Moms, Quilters and Knitters; they’ve made prayerbooks, baptism blankets, senior blankets and personal care bags.

 

Sandy Spiczka, Youth and Family Coordinator, expressed thanks for being rehired.

 

Kathy Kuebelbeck, Church Secretary, expressed thanks for all the gifts of time and talent everyone has shared.

 

Council President, Dan Kuntz highlighted as of 12/31/2009 mortgage balance was $32,172.79; a phenomenal success.

 

Committee reports submitted.

 

Financial: Rich Haselhorst reported 20009 was the first year Resurrection’s income decreased; however, all bills were met. Staff salaries were frozen.

 

Elections: motion, seconded and approved Council nominations: Rachel Kuebelbeck to serve a 2 year term on Christian Education; Mike Lage, 3-year term on Property; Lou Jagielski, 3-year term on Youth and Family; Dale White, 3-year term on Staff Support.

 

Old Business

 

Mission Plan Goals

  1. Address Growing Community: Pastor Linda reported on campus ministry activities.
  2. Address Growth in Congregation: a building task force is ready to begin.
  3. Growing Faithful Disciples: noted the purchase of Bibles in church pews; Bible study groups; other areas are still being worked on.
  4. Youth Discipleship: wrote position description for youth and family minister; still working on making Resurrection more kid-friendly.
  5. Help People Know Their Spiritual Gifts: waiting for additional staff to address this priority.
  6. Keep Outward Focus of our Ministry: reporting on summer mission trips and intergenerational service opportunities.

 
New Business

 

Motion, seconded and approved 2010 resolutions as submitted.
