Youth and Family Committee Annual Report – 2011
The Mission of Youth and Family Ministry at Resurrection Lutheran Church:
Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, building relationships, and empowering youth and their families to live their lives in faith.
In 2011 the Youth and Family Committee continued in our efforts to provide a variety of activities and opportunities that support Christian fellowship, and growth in the faith lives of the youth and families of Resurrection.
In 2011 we celebrated with our youth in their Affirmation of Baptism of 10th grade youth and High School Senior Recognition. The Youth and Family Committee continues to provide flowers, cakes, gifts and blankets for these events.
As part of Christian fellowship activities we planned the annual Chili Cook-off, Chocolate Sunday, Variety Show & Pasta Dinner, Thanksgiving Pie Social, Easter Breakfast and Fat Tuesday Pancake Supper.
The Youth and Family Committee also planned and carried out many fund raising activities that support Youth and Family activities and mission trips. Some of those fundraisers included Pancake Breakfasts, Brat Sales, Garage Sales, selling food and soup and the Framer’s Market.
In 2011 we planned and fundraised for 2 mission trips. In July we had an intergenerational mission trip to People Church in Bemidji and in August we had a youth mission trip to Tecate, Mexico.
The continued support we receive from congregation is just amazing and we thank you!!!
