Property Committee Annual Report – 2011
The Christmas decorations are all put away, the kids are back in school, and our lives are back to the everyday chaos in which we live. I look at our house and see that this light switch needs tightened, the dishwasher just died, and the living room needs a fresh coat of paint. Just as our own houses need up keep, God's house needs to be kept up also.
As we close out the year 2011 we reflect on the year that was. Due to limited budgets some building repairs such as fixing or possibly replacing windows in the sanctuary were put on hold, updating the landscaping on hold, and fixing the parking lot also on hold. As we move forward some of these things will become priorities and have to be taken care of.
The building continues to hold up quite well. The biggest events for the property committee would be the storm clean ups. We lost trees in the 4th of July weekend storm and again at the end of July. 2 trees along the road were lost on the 4th and 4 more at the end of July along with the last remaining tree in the road ditch by the Wobegon trail. A special thanks goes out to Tom and Carol Krueger and Wilbur Wilkens for helping clean up the trees, and Steve Johnson for the use of a trailer for hauling the brush.
A note of thanks goes out to Joey as he painted the Sunday school wing for his eagle scout project. Everyone deserves thanks because a building like this takes everyone to keep it running smoothly.
On behalf of the property committee, thanks to all for all the help big and small.
Sincerely yours,
Mike Lage
