Outreach Team Annual Report 2011
The goal of the Outreach Team is to aid the congregation in bringing God’s message outside the church walls and into the community. The efforts of this team and the congregation have made Christ’s message more visible in Saint Joseph and the surrounding communities.
Highlights of 2011 Outreach Team Activities
- Members of the team actively seek out visitors to our congregation and welcome them to our services. Making contact on Sunday morning or Wednesday evening is an important step in encouraging visitors to worship with us again. We encourage all members of Resurrection to join us in welcoming any visitors they see.
- Team members contact visitors that have left their name on the welcome pads
- Mary’s House was entered into this year’s 4th of July parade to promote the Community Vacation Bible School which is hosted by Resurrection.
- Ads were placed in area newspapers and various publications to promote our worship services and invite the community to attend
- Campus Ministry
- “Involvement on the Mall” at St Ben’s. College students visited the Resurrection information booth to play a bible trivia game. Depending on how hard a question they answered, the students won a variety of small prizes. Goldfish in a small glass vase were the most popular item sought out by the Students.
- Finals week – a study bag of goodies is given to the students
- Various activities are coordinated to give the students a place to grow in their faith
- Resurrection Website – Thank you to David Hunger for continuing to provide the care and feeding of this ministry, Thank you to Curtis Marketing for hosting our site.
The Outreach Team welcomes any new ideas the congregation may have on how to expand our ministry, and would welcome anyone that would like to join our team.
